Terms of Use

These terms cover use of the CampaMate website and related services during private beta and early access. They are a practical first draft for review, not formal legal advice. By creating an account or using CampaMate, you agree to them.

What CampaMate is

CampaMate helps people plan UK road trips by browsing campsites, facilities and routes. Free website users can explore campsites and build unsaved plans. Paid membership unlocks additional tools such as facilities search, Help Me Choose and saved routes, with app access included when the apps are released.

Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and keep your login details secure.
You are responsible for activity on your account.
We may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service, break these terms, or create security risk.

Early access membership

New memberships include a 7-day free trial. Card details are taken at checkout; you are not charged until the trial ends unless you cancel first.
Early access membership (joined before V1) is then priced at £0.99 per month.
Early supporters keep £0.99 per month for three months after V1 is released. After that grace period, their subscription moves to the V1 price of £2.49 per month or £24.99 per year while more facilities and campsites are added.
Members who first join after V1 launches pay £2.49 per month or £24.99 per year after their 7-day free trial.
If a subscription ends and is later restarted after early access closes, the then-current public price may apply.
Checkout may run in Stripe test mode during private beta. Live charges only apply when CampaMate enables live payment keys and you complete a real checkout.
Membership features can change as CampaMate develops. We will aim to keep the core early-access promise clear: facilities, route tools and app access with the same account when released.

Payments, cancellation and refunds

Billing is handled by our payment provider (Stripe). You can pay by card, and by Apple Pay or Google Pay where those options are available on your device and browser.
After the free trial, subscriptions renew monthly unless you cancel. You may cancel at any timefrom Manage billing on your account or the membership page. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the current trial or paid period already started.
If you cancel during the 7-day free trial, you will not be charged.
Subscriptions are non-refundable. Paid periods already charged are not refunded when you cancel. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact enquiries.campamate@gmail.com.

Travel information disclaimer

CampaMate provides planning aids, not guarantees. Place data may be incomplete, out of date or community-listed rather than operator-confirmed. Always check access, opening times, fuel grades, facilities and site rules before travel. You remain responsible for safe, legal driving and overnight decisions.

Map and third-party data

Map and place data may include OpenStreetMap data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Directions may open in Google Maps, Apple Maps or other third-party services that have their own terms.

Your content

If you send feedback, place suggestions, photos or other content, you confirm you have the right to share it and grant CampaMate a non-exclusive licence to use it for operating, reviewing and promoting the service (for example Photo of the Month). We may decline or remove content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive or infringes others’ rights.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt, scrape abusively, or reverse-engineer the service beyond normal use.
Do not upload unlawful, harmful or infringing material.
Do not use CampaMate to spam, harass or mislead others.
Do not present community-listed or unverified places as CampaMate-verified when they are not.

Availability

We aim for a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, especially during private beta and early access. Features may be added, changed or temporarily unavailable while we build towards V1.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CampaMate is not liable for losses arising from reliance on place data, route suggestions, third-party maps, or travel decisions you make. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

Changes

We may update these terms as the product and payments mature. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material membership-price promises for existing early supporters will not be quietly removed.
