CampaMate® Content & Data Usage Policy
CampaMate® provides information, tools and services for the campervan and motorhome community. Considerable time, investment and resources are involved in collecting, checking, organising, maintaining and presenting information available through CampaMate.
1. CampaMate content
Unless otherwise stated, original content created for CampaMate, including written material, guides, graphics, photographs, icons, layouts and other original material, is owned by or licensed to CampaMate and may be protected by copyright and other intellectual-property rights.
The CampaMate® name and associated registered trade marks are protected and may not be used in a way that infringes those rights or suggests an association, endorsement or partnership with CampaMate without permission.
2. CampaMate database and data
CampaMate compiles and maintains databases containing information including campsites, stopovers, facilities, services, businesses, routes, points of interest and other information relevant to campervan and motorhome travel.
To the extent that applicable copyright, database rights or other intellectual-property rights subsist in CampaMate’s databases, database structure, selection, arrangement, compilation or proprietary information, those rights are reserved.
Nothing in this policy claims ownership of facts, public information or third-party information where CampaMate does not hold the relevant rights.
3. Personal use
Users may access and use CampaMate information through the CampaMate website and applications for their own lawful personal use, subject to CampaMate’s Terms & Conditions.
Normal use of CampaMate — such as viewing locations, planning journeys, saving routes or sharing CampaMate links — is permitted.
4. Copying, scraping and extraction
Except where expressly permitted by law, applicable third-party licences or written permission from CampaMate, users must not systematically copy, scrape, harvest, extract or download CampaMate’s protected or proprietary content or database material.
In particular, users must not use CampaMate as a source for systematically populating, maintaining or enriching another website, application, mapping service, directory or commercial database where doing so infringes CampaMate’s rights or breaches these Terms.
Automated access, including bots, crawlers, scripts or other automated data-collection systems, may not be used to access protected CampaMate content except where CampaMate has expressly authorised that access.
5. Commercial use
CampaMate’s proprietary content and protected database material must not be commercially reproduced, redistributed, licensed, sold or supplied to third parties without prior written permission from CampaMate.
Businesses or organisations wishing to use CampaMate data commercially should contact CampaMate to discuss licensing or API access.
6. User contributions
Users may contribute information, reviews, photographs, corrections, routes, recommendations and other material to CampaMate.
Users retain any intellectual-property rights they hold in their original contributions.
By submitting content to CampaMate, users grant CampaMate a licence to host, store, reproduce, display and otherwise use that contribution as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, promote and provide the CampaMate service, subject to CampaMate’s full Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Users must only submit material they have the right to provide.
7. Third-party and licensed data
Some information displayed by CampaMate may originate from third-party providers, open-data sources, partners, APIs or other licensed sources.
Ownership and permitted use of such information remain subject to the rights and licence terms of the relevant provider.
CampaMate does not claim ownership of third-party information merely because it is displayed through CampaMate.
Where required by the applicable licence or agreement, appropriate attribution will be provided.
8. APIs and partner data
Information supplied to CampaMate through an API, commercial licence or data-sharing partnership remains subject to the applicable agreement between CampaMate and the data provider.
Users may not use CampaMate as a means of extracting or reproducing third-party datasets contrary to those rights or licence conditions.
9. Reporting unauthorised use
If CampaMate becomes aware of suspected unauthorised scraping, systematic extraction, reproduction or commercial use of protected CampaMate material, CampaMate may investigate and, where appropriate, restrict or terminate access and take other action available under the applicable Terms and law.
10. Permission to use CampaMate content
Anyone wishing to reproduce, license, integrate or otherwise commercially use CampaMate’s proprietary content or protected database material should obtain written permission from CampaMate before doing so. Contact enquiries@campamate.com.
