Vehicle Sales Terms & Conditions
CampaMate vehicle listings let members advertise campervans and motorhomes directly to other CampaMate users. These terms sit alongside the main CampaMate Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. They are written for private beta and early access in plain English, not as formal legal advice.
CampaMate’s role
CampaMate provides a listing and messaging platform only. CampaMate does not own, inspect, verify, value, sell, broker, finance, transport or warrant any privately advertised vehicle. The seller is the person advertising the vehicle, and any purchase agreement is between buyer and seller.
CampaMate is not a dealer, payment provider, escrow service, insurer, finance company or dispute resolution service for private vehicle sales.
Seller responsibilities
- You must own the vehicle or have clear legal authority to advertise it.
- Listing details, photographs, mileage, condition, faults, history and price must be honest and up to date.
- You must declare known accident history, insurance categories, outstanding issues and material defects.
- You must not list stolen vehicles, cloned vehicles, finance-restricted vehicles without disclosure, or anything you cannot legally sell.
- You must keep contact details, viewing arrangements and availability status current.
- You must tell CampaMate promptly when a vehicle is under offer, deposit taken, sold or no longer available.
Buyer responsibilities and safety
CampaMate does not inspect, verify, own or sell privately advertised vehicles. Always view the vehicle in person, confirm the seller’s identity, check the V5C and VIN, review the MOT history, check for outstanding finance and arrange an independent inspection before transferring any money. Never send a deposit unless you are satisfied that the seller and vehicle are genuine.
- View the vehicle in person before paying.
- Check the seller’s identity and that it matches the V5C keeper details where appropriate.
- Check the VIN, registration number, MOT history, service records, damp or habitation checks and conversion paperwork.
- Use an independent vehicle history and finance check before paying a deposit or balance.
- Arrange an independent inspection if you are not confident assessing the vehicle yourself.
- Be wary of pressure, unusual payment requests, shipping stories, unavailable viewings or requests to move immediately away from CampaMate.
Membership and listing fees
Standard listing — £14.99
- The seller must be registered as a CampaMate member, but they may use a free CampaMate account.
- A standard one-off vehicle listing costs £14.99 per vehicle unless the seller has a qualifying annual membership or a separate promotional offer applies.
- The seller must be signed in before creating and paying for a listing.
Free listing with annual membership
Instead of paying £14.99 for an individual listing, a seller with an active £16.99 annual CampaMate membership can list a vehicle without an additional listing fee.
- Only an active £16.99 annual CampaMate membership qualifies for the standard free vehicle-listing benefit.
- A monthly CampaMate subscription does not include a free vehicle listing.
- Monthly paying members who want to list a vehicle must either upgrade to the £16.99 annual membership or pay the £14.99 one-off listing fee.
- If a qualifying annual subscription ends, expires or is cancelled, a vehicle listing relying on that annual-membership benefit may be hidden until qualifying membership is restored.
- Any separate limited-time promotional free-listing offer is governed by its own eligibility rules and is not part of monthly membership.
CampaMate automatically checks membership and subscription status on the server when applying the correct listing option and price. Any signed-in CampaMate member, including a free member, may browse vehicle listings, view the seller contact options the seller has chosen to make available to members, and send an enquiry through CampaMate.
CampFire Buy & Sell
Sellers may optionally share a Member-to-Member listing to the CampFire Buy & Sell page. That shared view uses the same listing record — it is not a separate advert. Price, photo, description, status and removal updates apply to both places. Sold or deleted listings are removed or marked sold on CampFire Buy & Sell as well.
Review, moderation and removal
CampaMate may review listings before or after publication and may request changes, reject, suspend or remove listings where information appears incomplete, unsafe, misleading, fraudulent, inappropriate or outside the purpose of vehicle sales listings. We may also remove listings where qualifying annual membership lapses, reports are unresolved, or the feature is being misused.
Photos, documents and privacy
Sellers should not upload photographs or text that expose sensitive personal information, exact home addresses, payment details, document reference numbers or other people’s private data. Registration numbers and phone numbers are handled according to the listing options chosen by the seller, but sellers remain responsible for what they include in free text and photographs.
Payments and disputes
CampaMate does not take payment for private vehicles and does not hold deposits. The £14.99 fee is an advertising/listing fee paid to CampaMate, not a payment towards the vehicle itself. Buyers and sellers are responsible for agreeing safe payment arrangements, receipts, collection, delivery and any post-sale dispute. CampaMate cannot guarantee a vehicle, enforce a sale, refund a vehicle payment, reverse a bank transfer or decide ownership disputes.
Reporting concerns
If a listing appears fraudulent, misleading, unsafe, offensive or already sold, use the report option on the listing. CampaMate will review reports in good faith, but a report does not guarantee a specific outcome or create a duty for CampaMate to investigate like a regulator or enforcement body.
Changes
We may update these Vehicle Sales terms as the feature matures, especially before V1 release. Continued use of the vehicle sales listings after changes means you accept the updated terms.
